DEBATE CLUB

The Debate club was started with the idea of empowering children, to express themselves confidently and clearly ,and with practice and guidance, turn out to be effective speakers; to be abreast with diversified events and eminent people in all walks of life. This also gives them an opportunity to improve upon their communication skills which is of paramount importance in todays world scenario.

These sessions are well received with wide spread interest and enthusiasm by the members .

Fine Arts Club

The Fine Arts Club (Juniors) activities increase opportunities for self expression and give an individual a sense of belonging or attachment to the community. The Art Clubs major motive was to enhance the childrens creativity by guiding them. Students of classes 1-8 participate in the Art Club enthusiastically and enjoy each activity immensely. The Art Club introduces different methods of drawing and painting which helps the children to boost their self-esteem and imagination. The students had many interesting activities in clay modeling and paper sculpture as well.

HISTORY CLUB REPORT 2012-2013

The History club meet every fortnight and spend their time discussing the headlines of the week, discovering varied aspects of the lives of many famous and well known historical figures. They watch historical documentaries and write about it as well. Every year, on National Holidays, they put up something interesting and inspiring about our motherland and her rich past.

A group of 28 students from Std. 3-8 were taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sanghralaya, Mumbai (Prince of Wales Museum) to visit the ongoing exhibition on Egyptian Mummies and a 3D movie on the same.

The visit provided an opportunity for the students to understand history better and appreciate its importance in their lives.

READERS CLUB (2012-13)

The children were encouraged to read classics, mysteries, short stories, Shakespearean stories and stories by some good Indian authors. This was followed by a book-review and character analysis. Some children wrote short stories on similar themes as an extended activity.

These activities have boosted the confidence of the members, given them a platform to discuss and express their views openly, have enhanced their communication skills and last but not the least made them more passionate about reading.

Right Writing Club

The club has other classes where The children were given direction on how to write a story, reports and recently poems in which they could coin their own words.

Writing is a pleasure and teaching young minds to open their minds and write with style and lan is a joy so heres hoping that we have made some headway in that direction .

SCIENCE CLUB

In order to develop their analytical skills several experiments were conducted based on magnetism, electricity, crystallization, light etc, the Science Club students referred to many books from the school library and thereafter discussions were held on various topics to promote the exchange of ideas.

The students of the Science Club visited a Science Fair held at Nehru Science Centre. They saw many interesting projects and models like magnetic train and water harvesting along a highway etc. The students liked the Wangdu chair the most. This chair is for the elderly and differently abled people where a sensor is kept under the tongue. The movement of tongue controls the chair. It can also work on the verbal instructions.

The members of The Science Club have become more inquisitive and hence developed a more scientific and rational outlook.
